Information Requirements to Develop a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Adquisition)

Regardingn the information requirements and/or specifications that are needed to size and determine the scope of an automation project to implement a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), it must be defined if the application and/or industry requires the following.

Indispensable Features:

  1. Compliance with the ISA-95 standard applicable to the information from the Floor  to the ERp through the SCADA.
  2. Compliance with the FDA/cGAMP5/CFR21-Part 11 & NOM-059.
  3. Interactive Analysis Tools.
  4. Personal Information Panels.

 

Data Required to Determine the Functional Scope of the SCADA System

Run-Time Clients.- Number of Real Time Clients

Real-Time Tags.- Number of tags (Variables) in Real Time

Historical Tags 2.- Number of Tags (Variables) to Historicize

Designer.- Designer and Configurator of screens, graphics, DB, communications, users, etc.

Data Logger 3.- Data Register for historical query.

SQL Bridge Module.- Link of data from PLCs to SQL data base. It includes a transaction group administrator and SQL Tags historizer. Versions of SQL data points: from Limited Edition, (only basic SQL data record) to Unlimited Data Points (unlimited data).

Alarming.- Alarms

Alarm Notification.- Alarm Notification: adds the functionality of an alarm notification center for the SCADA and allows to build logic for monitoring and attention of two-way mail.

SMS Notification Module.- It allows configuring the notification of alarms by SMSs. Requires this Alarm notification Module and GSM/GRSM Router (hardware).

Voice Notification Module.- It allows to configure an trigger notifications of alarms by voice. Includes one language (Spanish), supports multiple languages. A compatible VOIP SIP voice service is required, such as your VOIP voice service, Skype Connect or an Atcom IP01 to bridge to a stndard telephone line (noy included).

Transaction Groups 4.- Groups of Transactions for data transmission by events or by time to ERPs, WMS, LABs, etc.

Reporting.- Reporting: Creation of dynamic reports in PDF managed by the database manager.

Symbol Factory.- Vector Icons/Gráphics with emphasis on Industrial symbology.

Sequential Function Charts.- Diagram of Sequential Processes. Visual editing and execution of scripts (lines code) to structure the creation, organization and visualization of robust logic sytems. Mobile Adaptation of graphics and screens to mobile devices. Create custom deployments and mobile applications to enter data in motion.

OPC-UA Module.- Platform included, high performance of OPC-UA server with a model of enabled driver. Includes drivers for many common protocols.

OPC-COM Module.- Connection to classic COM based on OPC servers. Supports OPC-DA (2&3), only for Windows.

OPC-COM+HDA Module.- Includes all the features of the OPC-COM Module and adds HDA connectivity  (access to historical data).

Web Browser Module.- Embedded Explorer within SCADA project.

Redundant Servers.- Redundacy of the Server

Notes:

1.Volumen licenses, OEM (original Equipment Manufacturer), site, and corporations are availble. Call us for details.

2.Any Tag in real Time can be  additionally enable as "Historical Tag". This provides an easy and efficient registry that includes data compression, optimization of recoveries and automated management of tables, including partition of tables in any SQL database that is provided.

3.This a data logger that simply by "take and leave" (drag and drop) without compression or the optimizations. Selected OPC articles are represented as columns in a table of any SQL database that is provided or connected.

4.“Transaction Groups” provides powerful connectivity between Databases/PLCs and manipulation tools. This is an indispensable tool for developers that allows the creation of sophisticated data intensive applications (without which, it woulb not be possible unless with extensive programming and advanced programming skills).

Database.- Microsoft SQLServer, Oracle, IBM DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebird, y others.              

PC.- Server o Workstation, Dual-Core Processor (32/64 bit), 4GB RAM, 10GB HD free space.    Java SE 8+  (server), Java SE 6+ (client), (requirements may vary by application or byuser standars)

Operating System.- Windows (7, 8, Svr 2012), Linux, Android, IOs.

Type of Industry

Application Type (Technological).- Combustión, CCM´s, Production, Services (HVAC, Water, Gas, Electricity), building management (CCTV, lighting, Access Control, Elevators, stairs), etc.

Number of Controllers.- PLCs, RTUs, DCSs. Scpecific purpose equipment (Scales , Instruments, Laboratory Equipment, Software Systems : WMS, MRP, ERP, EBR, etc.)
